Home Page    N-butyl thiophosphoric triamide (NBPT)

CAS No.: 94317-64-3

Molecular Formula: CH₁₄NPS

NBPT is currently the world's advanced, highly effective, widely applied, and cost-efficient urease inhibitor. It is widely used in countries like the USA, Brazil, and Germany. Its half-life in soil is 7-8 days, with no impact on subsequent crops. Final decomposition products are mainly ammonium, sulfate, and phosphate ions, posing no negative effects on soil, microorganisms, humans, livestock, or water bodies. It has passed comprehensive testing by the U.S. FDA.

◎ Active Ingredient: NBPT + functional auxiliaries, protectants, solvents, etc.

Compound Urease Inhibitor: NBPT and other multi-component urease inhibitors.

Dual-effect Inhibitor: Urease inhibitor + Nitrification inhibitor.

Efficacy: NBPT inhibits urease activity in soil, effectively slowing down the hydrolysis of urea into ammonia, reducing nitrogen volatilization, improving nitrogen fertilizer utilization efficiency, extending fertilizer effectiveness, and mitigating the toxic effects of high nitrogen concentrations on crop seeds and seedlings.

Application Scope: Added to urea or urea-containing fertilizers for producing stabilized urea, stabilized compound fertilizers, water-soluble fertilizers, etc.

Dosage: NBPT (pure equivalent) is added at 0.09%-0.2% of the amide nitrogen content in the fertilizer or at 0.04%-0.09% of the urea amount.
